Re: [sig-policy] prop-085: Eligibility for critical infrastructureassign
From the recent discussion about critical infrastructure
assignments during the final /8 phase, I feel people
might have different interpretation about certain definition
and policy statement, there may be some ambiguity
need to be clarify.
So, it will be helpful if Sam or Guangliang
from the secretariat can clarify the following points:
1. According to current policy & pratice,
is the block 203.119.0.0/16 purely reserved for critical infrastructure
assignments?
2. According to the current final /8 policy,
9.10 Distribution of the final /8 worth of space in the unallocated APNIC IPv4 address pool
When the total remaining space in the unallocated APNIC address pool reaches a threshold
of a total of one /8, the following policies will come into force.....
So in APNIC's practice, will there be a single reserved /8 prefix address block or
simply the total of /8 equivalent size of address block?
3. According to the current final /8 policy & practice, will the current assignment policy
11. Assignments and exchanges
remain in effect during the final /8 phase(no matter it's a single block or not)?
4. (This is the one I try to secure)
According to the current final /8 policy & practice,
if the 203.119.0.0/16 block still have available space during the final /8 phase,
can an account holder request and receive an assignment from that block under the
11.3 Critical infrastructure policy?
I think I had summurized the ambiguous points, but if there are some points I neglected,
I appreciate every one can add that in.
I just receive Sam's post while I am composing this, so I think some of the above
may already be addressed, but it will be more helpful if Sam can give
clarification to the above points explicitly.
Thanks & Regards
Terence Zhang
