hello,everyone,
I have 2 questions:
1. 4-byte AS number can increase the number of AS, is the AS resource rare now? 2. Can the equipment support 4-byte ASN without any modification?
Thank you very much!

no - but the depletion rate of ASs from the unallocated AS number pool suggests that we will exhaust the unallocated pool by late 2010. See http://www.potaroo.net/tools/asns/ for further details.

Existing deployed routers running BGP within a 2-byte AS need not undertake any changes to their equipment nor to their BGP code base. ASs running with as 4-byte ASN will need to use upgraded BGP software that is aware of 4-Byte ASs. Details of this can be found at http://www.potaroo.net/ispcol/2005-08/as.html and at http://smakd.potaroo.net/ietf/idref/draft-ietf-idr-as4bytes/index.html
