One obvious advantage I could foresee is from the aspect of traffic engineering. Today it is difficult for a service
provider to segregate his traffic based on geographical regions. All the tier 1 service providers who provide
Traffic Engineering communities, tag the routes from where they learn and not from the region where they are
originated. Allocation of a country-wide ip address blocks can in fact facilitate region based TE communities.
Saying so ,it is also necessary to clearly define the allocation policy and guidelines for the NIR.
