One thing that can be done to help something like this from spreading around the internet is filter your downstream BGP customers.

To be perfectly honest, I can see myself doing that on a Microtik box by accident if all I knew was Cisco. Their command line syntax is completely unintuitive for anyone used to doing routing and switching for any length of time. =)
Then again, I'd go with LRP before using anything other Cisco or Juno if I had prefixes to advertise.
