This email below was meant for the PacNOG Coordinating Committee team and by mistake I have sent to the PacNOG forum.
The email was for the preliminary planning of the PacNOG educational workshops and training 2014. We will formally announce venue and dates in due course once we have discussed and finalised with interested host(s), available trainers and PacNOG partners.
As noted therein, for the program it will be relevant to hear from all of you on your needs and training topics to help our PacNOG Coordination Committee in designing for the PacNOG 15 and 16 in 2014
As usual, in the program we will allocate a plenary conference session to get everyone together to hear, discuss and exchange on topics of high interests and specific country case developments or case studies, to be followed by breakout hands-on training tracks on specific topics finalised with you and offerings with target focus on internet/IP network and systems operations, design and development.
So, feel free to send your inputs and training needs that we can consider in the planning for PacNOG 15 and 16 in 2014

From: PITA Manager [mailto:email@example.com] Sent: Monday, 3 February 2014 11:14 AM To: 'firstname.lastname@example.org' Subject: pacnog 15 2014 dates and venue
With the interests from Solomon Is and Samoa as per last email, I had met the CEO and the delegation of the Vanuatu Office of the Government Chief Information Officer - OGCIO during the PTC2014 in Honolulu and have confirmed their interest to host the PacNOG 15 (in fact with PacNOG 16 also but we may agree to give chances to others also for PacNOG 16 )
While Vanuatu and others are being followed up, can we discuss the dates that will be ok for everyone
PacNOG 15 date options: - (1) June 23-27 (2) June 30-July 04??
PacNOG 16 date options: - (1) Nov 24-28 (2) Dec 01-05??
Appreciate your feedback and inputs
Possible programs to consider can include:
1. intro to routing and basic level BGP workshop
2. advance level routing workshop
3. network & systems security workshop
4. network management and monitoring
Given there's some high interest and inroads by Vanuatu (submarine cable/ICT sector), we may want to look at Supplementary workshops that could include:
1. intro to linux basic network concepts
2. virtualisation & cloud
Open for discussions and for preliminary efforts to indicate best dates, trainers & offerings
