Hi Amy,
At the beginning, I should say that your auction way does not workable for the regulated IPv4 transfer market. I think it is fine for the subscribers to know that HILCO gets the financial support/investment from B-Stock Sourcing Network to make your brokerage business on IPv4 survive. Furthermore, considering that members only have the custodianship on the IPv4 and there are plenty of policy to comply with, your auction ways only work when the free market era kicks in. However, both you and other subscribers in this transfer list know that RIRs won’t let that happen. The auction ways also contradict with basic rules of the Economics. Otherwise you should have already sold many IPv4 as you have listed ( the truth is that you have completed so few cases since your introduction of the Auction years ago; many of your previously listed blocks still have not been sold and cos that those sellers have been misled and their IPv4 has been undervalued, those sellers are feeling so deeply regretful for asking you to do the brokerage).
Ask some Subscribers from JPNIC and CNNIC and one or two speculator registered in this list, I think they can tell you the market price in each of their countries (which is dearer than yours in the Auction platform). The final deal price is always higher than what you have listed in the platform, which makes the buyer unhappy too. No wondering both the sellers and the buyers are leaving you.

Cheers, Michael

AN EASIER WAY TO PURCHASE IPv4 ADDRESSES: Hilco Streambank's IPv4Auctions.com streamlines the process of purchasing IPv4 address blocks, and adds much needed transparency to the IPv4 market. Avoid time consuming back-and-forth calls and emails with sellers and brokers, and potentially costly contract negotiations.
HOW IT WORKS: Registered users agree to the terms of sale that govern the purchase and transfer of IPv4 address blocks won on the site each time they login to IPv4Auctions.com. After e-signing our Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement, registered users can view the specific address ranges of all listed blocks, and diligence the IP addresses prior to bidding in an auction. After winning an auction, the winning bidder makes payment into escrow and proceeds directly to the transfer process. Payment is only released to the seller after the address block has been transferred into the buyer's APNIC account. Hilco Streambank assists throughout the entire process to ensure an efficient and smooth transfer.
LOOKING TO SELL YOUR IP ADDRESSES?: Please contact apotter@hilcostreambank.commailto:apotter@hilcostreambank.com if you are interested in selling your IPv4 address blocks on our online auction platform, or via directly negotiated sales. I agree with Michael mostly.
I think the auction process of a bad thing, and benefits only the seller and the broker.
To us (v4now), we charge a flat fee based on the size of the block, not on how much it is sold for. So for us, we get paid the same if it is sold for $5 or $15.
I think any other way is gouging the buyers who need the address space.
But... it is a free market, and there will always be people who take advantage of the buyers.
Realistically, brokering is an easy thing to do... we just connect buyers and sellers. It is even easier than selling property or cards, which have a clear value (most of the time).
But and IP address block is just that... and nothing more at all.. no value add... and also the process really isn't any different for a /24 or a /10 from a transaction perspective.
Brokers have little value to add apart from making sure both the buyers and sellers understand what policy is requires and making the process a smooth one.
While we are brokers, we're just honest about it which is why we're building up our FAQ section with free advice.
This isn't hard... but some would like you to believe it is.
