21st APNIC Open Policy Meeting 27 February - 3 March, 2006 Perth, Australia ______________________________
Dear APNIC members and friends,
It is our pleasure to invite you to attend the 21st APNIC Open Policy Meeting, being held in conjunction with APRICOT 2006 in Perth, Australia.
As in past years, the APNIC Open Policy Meeting will be one of the tracks within APRICOT. APNIC 21 will include APNIC tutorials, Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings, Birds of a Feather (BoF) sessions, Hostmaster consultations, Helpdesk, the APNIC Member Meeting (AMM), and an APNIC social event. A draft schedule will soon be available at:
APNIC 21/APRICOT 2006 will be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre in Perth and will be hosted by the Western Australian Internet Association (WAIA). The conference is expected to attract a wide range of delegates from the Asia Pacific region and the rest of the world. The programme includes:
Workshops 22 - 26 February
Tutorials 27 - 28 February
SIG/BoF meetings 1 - 2 March
APNIC Member Meeting 3 March

1. Sponsorship opportunities ---------------------------- Interested organisations are invited to sponsor APNIC 21. In return for their support, sponsors will be presented with valuable opportunities to expose their organisation, products, and services to an international audience of Internet leaders. Prospective sponsors are encouraged to express interest as soon as possible by emailing the APNIC Secretariat at sponsorship@apnic.net.
2. Call for proposals --------------------- The SIGs are open fora for discussing technical, policy, and operational issues relating to the management of Internet resources within the Asia Pacific region.
The SIG Chairs will issue calls for proposals to the SIG mailing lists shortly, inviting interested parties to submit an Informational (I) or Policy (P) proposal for discussion at the SIG meetings. Details of discussions held at previous SIG meetings can be accessed from the SIG archive at:

3. APRICOT 2006 fellowship programme ------------------------------------ Suitable applicants from developing countries are now invited to apply for fellowship funding to participate in APRICOT 2006 in Perth. The programme provides basic assistance to successful fellows to cover local living and registration expenses associated with attending the conference.
