I'd like to remind you that it would be great if you could start thinking about proposals for our next meeting. We often see proposals submitted at the very last minute and that can make it hard for everyone to debate the ideas in proposals and give them a real chance of success or to give the authors of a proposal time to consider questions or changes proposed by other members of the community.
Some of our policy proposals are quite complex and we sometimes need more time to consult with our own local communities before we reach a view. I suspect that if we had more time to consider proposals before the meeting we might end up not having to try to negotiate details during the meeting quite so much. And I think that might make it easier to avoid surprises during the face to face meeting.
We'll make announcements about the actual deadlines nearer the time but remember that the Chair and Co-chairs would be happy to see proposals at any time. I've just posted a couple of reminders about the proposals we have on the table. Let's start with some discussion on those.
