the discussion about the change of abuse contact information brought up a really important issue. The data accuracy in the whois database. The idea was to send frequent emails to the ip range owners and request them to update their whois information. I think there was a rough consensus about this idea. Therefore I talked to the APNIC Secretary and asked if there is a policy needed or if this could just be implemented as an APNIC service. The answer was, both is possible, but the better way would be to have a policy, that would strengthen APNIC and request them to do the frequent update requests. Unfortunately the deadline for submtting proposals for APNIC 29 was beginning of February. Nevertheless I would suggest doing a policy proposal that asks APNIC to send frequent update request to their members. Anybody interested in writing the proposal with me as a co-writer, or anybody interested in beeing my co-writer? Thanks, Tobias
