Hey all, I’ve been looking at accommodation
in Beijing for APNIC 28, and the venue of the event is extremely expensive for
accommodation. Even the cheapest rooms are like
US$270 for most of the conference... that is just ridiculous, especially given
I am looking at spending some extra time there. Given that the venue hotel is
located as below: Grand Hyatt Beijing No.1 East Chang An Avenue, Dong
Cheng 100738 BEIJING - (a few minutes walking distance to Forbidden City) There seem to heaps of other
known name hotels like the Crowne Plaza (US$142), Park Plaza for US$96 and a
pile of hotels around that range. Does anyone know other hotels
that are close by to the venue hotel? Google Maps isn’t helping me
much... too much Chinese language and conflicting map references. Just a note... why has CNNIC
chosen such an expensive hotel? Also... has anyone given much
thought to which Visa’s they are apply for? I remember in Manilla
that there were three? I am not sure about the restrictions -- Skeeve Stevens,
