bird registration has been extended to Friday 1 August 2003, so if you

Tutorials 19 August
Open Policy Meeting 20-21 August
APNIC Member Meeting 22 August
Delegates to APNIC 16 have a wide choice of tutorials from two tracks on
Tuesday 19 August. The Open Policy Meeting includes the usual Special
Interest Group (SIG) discussions and, for the first time, an opening
plenary, at which presentations will be made by Paul Twomey (ICANN),
Phillip Harris (Cisco) and Geoff Huston (Telstra).

2. SIG proposals

Details of Informational (I) and Policy (P) proposals submitted for
discussion in the SIGs are now available at:

You are invited to contribute to the discussion of policy proposals on
the respective SIG mailing lists, before the meeting commences. Mailing

3. Address Council election
---------------------------
One seat on the Asia Pacific Address Council will become vacant during
October 2003. Nominations of individuals from the Asia Pacific region to
fill the position for the next three years have now closed. The
selection process will involve an election to fill the vacancy during
APNIC 16 on Friday 22 August 2003. Details of nominees for the position

4. Helpdesk
-----------
Members are invited to visit the Member Services Helpdesk at the meeting
to meet hostmaster staff. You will also be able to learn more about the
member service, MyAPNIC, as well as request a digital certificate from
the APNIC Certification Authority. A digital certificate provides secure
access to MyAPNIC services.
5. Hostmaster consultations
---------------------------
Members will also be able to book consultations with APNIC hostmasters
during the meeting so that resource requests and registration issues can
be discussed. Registration for the consultations will be announced
shortly.
