This changed behaviour was the result of human error (ie, me) in editing
the script which imports the databases of the historical confederations
(and others) (JPNIC, KRNIC, TWNIC, CCAIR and AUNIC) into the whois server
'whois.apnic.net'.
Due to this error, only the APNIC database was provided at
whois.apnic.net, rather than the normal output of APNIC + other db.
Our monitoring software did not pick this up as it only checked for the
existence of certain objects within the APNIC database. This has been
changed to also check for certain objects within the other databases.
My apologies for this lapse on our part.
