Please support APNIC
19th January 1998
David R Conrad
Director General
APNIC
Dear David,
I read your email entitled "APNIC existence endangered"
with some concern.
This is an open letter from APNG to express our fullest
support of your efforts to keep APNIC going, copied to
APNG mailing list.
>From the days in which APNIC originated as a NIC project
in APNG sometime in 1992 or thereabouts, to the APNIC of today,
progress in the development of Internet in our region
has been tremendous and due in no small way to the success
of APNIC led by yourself from the beginning.
As APNG chairman, it is my duty to continue our support
for what I consider fondly as a "daughter" organisation,
spawned out of the fold of APNG.
I therefore call upon APNG participants who are also APNIC
members to support APNIC by sending in nominations for the
three seats of the APNIC executive council before
the closing date of 8 Feb. APNIC is a crucial organisation
for our region. We must all rally behind it.
Thank you and I wish you all the best for the new year.
Warmest regards,
Tin Wee
