15th APNIC Open Policy Meeting
24-28 February 2003
Taipei, Taiwan
Dear APNIC members and friends,
If you have not registered for APNIC 15 yet, we encourage you to do so
before 19 January 2003 to take advantage of the early bird rate, a
saving of 25 percent on the standard registration fee.
APNIC 15 will be held in conjunction with APRICOT 2003 at the Taipei
International Convention Center (TICC), Taiwan from 24 to 28 February
2003. As usual APNIC's Open Policy Meeting will form one of the
conference and tutorial "tracks" within the APRICOT 2003 programme. For
the first time APRICOT also incorporates the Global IPv6 Summit and the
Asia Pacific Security Incident Response Coordination (APSIRC)
conference, making the programme the most extensive ever offered.
Delegates can attend APNIC 15 sessions as well as all of the open
APRICOT 2003, IPv6 Summit and APSIRC sessions. Full programme details

1. EARLY BIRD CLOSES 19 January 2003

To take advantage of the early-bird discount please register before 19
January 2003. APNIC members also receive an additional 25 percent
discount. Members should choose the "APNIC Member" option on the opening
menu and supply their APNIC account name. If you do not know you account
name email us at <meetings at apnic dot net>. To register for APNIC 15, the
APNIC Member Meeting (AMM), or any of the APRICOT 2003 sessions, go to
the APRICOT registration system at:

2. NOMINATIONS FOR EXECUTIVE COUNCIL
-------------------------------------
APNIC is calling for nominations of individuals from the Asia Pacific
region to fill four positions on the Executive Council. The selection
process will involve an open election to be held during the APNIC Member
Meeting, in Taipei on 28 February 2003. Nominations must be submitted to
APNIC by the close of business, Friday 14 February 2003. Nominations
must be made using the online nomination form available at:

If you are not able to attend the AMM, you can still make your vote
count, by appointing a proxy to represent you at the meeting. Proxy
forms are available at:

3. CALL FOR SPONSORS
---------------------
APNIC acknowledges the valuable contributions provided by sponsors of
the Open Policy Meeting. There are still some sponsorship opportunities
available at APNIC 15 but as sponsor rights are granted on a first-come
first-served basis, prospective sponsors should send an expression of
interest as soon as possible to <meetings at apnic dot net>. Details of

4. FINAL CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS

APNIC 15 will include a range of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and the
NIR meeting. This is a final call for presentations for these sessions.
If you would like to take part with a presentation, please send your
proposal to the appropriate chair, cc'ing <sig at apnic dot net>, no later than
Friday 24 January 2003. Chairs can be reached at the following email

5. TRANSLATION SERVICES
-----------------------
All meeting sessions at APNIC 15 will be conducted in English. However,
the conference facilities will allow for translation to a limited number
of additional languages. Interested organisations will need to provide
their own translator. If you are interested in providing a translator
for any of the APNIC 15 sessions please send an expression of interest
to us at <meetings at apnic dot net>.
