- There has been debate as to whether the proposal is outside the scope of APNIC policy and that it would be more appropriate for the IETF to discuss it.
- A previous proposal, "prop-058: Proposal to create IPv4 shared use address space among LIRs", did not reach consensus within the APNIC community at APNIC 25 as it was considered to be more appropriate for the IETF to discuss.
- However, an earlier proposal, "IPv6 for for documentation purposes" was adopted by APNIC in 2002 and was later adopted as an RFC.
Full details of the proposal, including links to previous discussions of it at earlier APNIC meetings, can be found at:
Hi all,
JPNIC + our community support this proposal. It would be useful to define such space as in the case of other resources.
I note there has been some discussions on appropriate forum to define the space. We don't have a strong opinion on this point.
