[sig-policy] Upcoming implementation of prop-032: four-byte AS number policy

Dear colleagues
From 1 January 2006, APNIC will begin processing requests for four-byte AS numbers.
APNIC received the following four-byte AS number block from IANA in November 2006 and will begin making assignments from this range after 1 January 2007: 2.0 - 2.1023 AS number syntax in the APNIC Whois Database will be extended to accommodate four-byte AS numbers. This affects all whois database object types that refer to AS numbers. These changes may affect any automated tools you use to interact with the database. Please note that syntax for two-byte AS numbers will remain unchanged. For more information on the implementation of the four-byte AS number policy proposal, including a full list of affected whois object types, please see: http://www.apnic.net/policy/proposals/prop-032-v002.html Regards -------------------------------------------------------------------- Son Tran email: son@apnic.net Policy Development Manager, APNIC sip: son@voip.apnic.net http://www.apnic.net phone: +61 7 3858 3100 fax: +61 7 3858 3199 --------------------------------------------------------------------
