Dear Community Members, Greetings from Cooperation SIG/ APrIGF!
It’s a pleasure to invite you to the Cooperation SIG /APrIGF session during APNIC54 together with APrIGF2022 tomorrow, SIG is a forum for discussion about broader Internet issues like Public Policy and Internet Governance, which are related to APNIC/APrIGF community interests, which involve governments, other organizations, and other communities. Here are the details of the session; --- *Title: My global online presence diminished: conflicts, politics and consequences*
*Objective*: To discuss real life scenarios on how people’s life have been affected by geopolitical conflicts and national regulations with a focus on cases in Asia-Pacific. To propose multi-stakeholder solutions, including engagement with governments.
*Possible* *outcome*: Drafting an input to the UN Global Digital Compact.
*Abstract*: This workshop will explore how multistakeholder participatory Internet governance processes are affected by recent geopolitical conflicts and national regulations. The global Internet has seen an increase in fragmentation; shutdowns and takedowns; state sponsored cyberattacks and has suffered the effect of international sanction regimes. What is the human effect of this diminished global online presence? Please participate in a vibrant discussion on *human impact, participation in times of conflict* tomorrow, September 13, 2020 . Your participation and voices matter a lot to our community.
