Thanks Terry for these comments.
Get the IETF journal from the www.isoc.org site, it is quite an easy read for technical people: http://www.isoc.org/tools/blogs/ietfjournal/
And don't forget to support ISOC activities, IETF is an activity of ISOC. www.isoc.org/join
I think 4 people in the Pacific Islands have benefited of this scholarship since its creation See you in March to the next IETF.

I was one of the fortunate fellows to attend IETF 73 Minneapolis. I would encourage PACNOG members to apply to attend the next IETF meeting. (next year IETF 74) I must say although it was a bit cold for a pacific islander, it was a great experience to participate in the working groups and was very interesting to see the IETF machinery in action debating and formulating the next enhancements/generation of standards.
These fellowships provide us a unique opportunity for people from developing countries to participate and engage with the IETF working groups (WG). I would suggest to members who are interested to subscribe/read the WG discussions and RFC's as the discussions at these meetings can at times be very technical.
Overall a wonderful programme and thanks to ISOC for allowing me this experience.

Dear PacNOG members,
Don't hesitate to contact any of us if you need any further information to apply to attend IETF, to enable your participations.
I will be including this event and including relevant issues, needs and updates from IETF and other relevant bodies, and plan for regional preparatory including policy in our 2009 calendar which will be discussed in workplan with the CEOs in PTC, Honolulu.
Perhaps have them included in PacnOG5 and PacNOG6 conference sessions
Updates to be shortly provided
Cheers Fred Christopher
