Dear PacNOGers,
Greetings from Cairo.
With participation and registration to ICANN meetings open and free to anyone, over 900 meeting registrants from all over the globe are expected to be participating at this 33rd ICANN meeting in the various meetings of Country Code Names Supporting Organisation, Generic Names Supporting Organisations, Government Advisory Committee, Security & Stability Advisory Committee and At large Advisory Committee. Aside from meeting sessions there are also some useful workshops that may interest you as these provide recent updates from content experts: eg. DNNSEC, E-crime Q&A, ICANN strategic planning, etc.
The full schedule of this weeks meeting is available at http://cai.icann.org/en/cai/schedule
From here you can download presentations and/or follow the live transcripts of main sessions and also participate in the chat rooms.
This feature has been made available to support remote participation.
What's hot on the agenda? For those interested this ICANN meeting will also discuss the Draft Application Guide Book for new generic top-level domains (criteria and procedures) and ongoing work of fastracking the Internationalized Domain Names in the ccTLD space. For more information both these topics feature prominently on ICANNs home page at http://www.icann.org
Oceania has participants from Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa and Tuvalu. The three participants from the Pacific Islands are here as ICANN's fellowship recipients. http://www.icann.org/fellowships/
I'll be happy to update this list further if there's interest and welcome private emails for any clarifications or questions.
Regards, -- Save Vocea Manager, Regional Relations - Australasia/Pacific http://www.icann.org
