TFL launches Connect Infinity FTTH service in Fiji 30 May 2014 Fiji
Telecom Fiji Limited (TFL) has announced the launch of a new high speed data service in Suva, as it marked the company’s latest efforts to establish itself as a major data service player in the country. Speaking at the launch of ‘Connect Infinity’, TFL chairman Tom Ricketts said the battle for the best internet service provider (ISP) in Fiji could only be won by having the appropriate telecoms infrastructure and technical innovation to fulfil customer expectations. The new service, aided by recent network investment, will help TFL provide super-fast fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband with a maximum 100Mbps connection for end users, he said. ‘TFL has 450km of optical fibre cables laid in the greater parts of Fiji … [the company] trialled Connect Infinity at the Hill Apartments in Tamavua and received good feedback from tenants’.
